Deposits help have a safer marketplace, higher vehicle quality, and reduced costs that allow us to keep our low costs for you. Besides helping to keep costs down, they bring more hosts with more cars to our platform, which ultimately gives guests more choices when it comes to finding the best car for their trip


We automatically refund security deposits 72 hours after the trip ends, as long as the guest returns the car in good conditions with no reported issues.

Otherwise the Xrent can file a claim. If it's resolved in favor of the host we’ll take the reimbursement from the security deposit and refund the balance, if any.

 A renty has a 24 hour post-claim time window to dispute a claim.
